Rockton is a global player in the sustainable transition of the aviation industry

Today we are exclusively focused on sustainable aviation investments and assets

We are primarily focusing on investments in three areas to generate attractive returns and positive climate impact. These are alternative aviation fuels, electrification, and climate change mitigation.

With a focus primarily in Europe and the US, we are advancing innovation technology in the aviation ecosystem. We are particularly interested in advancing technology with the ability to scale and that provide financial benefits for operators.

Our investment strategy in sustainable aviation is about reducing environmental impact by targeting solutions that can reduce greenhouse gases alongside generating positive financial impact.

Electric Aviation:
The Next Frontier

We need only look at the electric vehicles (EVs) revolution to see what is possible. Huge gains are being made in EVs, with sales growing exponentially (last year EV sales in Europe were up by 63%) reaching 1.2 million sold cars [1].

Aviation is the next frontier. It is a $3.5 trillion market (4% of GDP) and growing [2]. By embracing Aviation 2.0, and reinventing itself, the industry can become a leader in climate action. Since there is no single pathway to net-zero, multiple technologies need to be embraced. The sector won’t change overnight. By bringing innovation, technologies, new ideas and a laser focus on sustainability, aviation will be poised to take off as a powerful part of the solution to climate change.

Our mission is to accelerate investments in pioneering aviation technology companies and assets delivering outsized sustainability benefits along with competitive returns.

Sustainable aviation is a multi-disciplinary field that seeks solutions to improve the environmental impact of air transportation through new practices and radical innovation [3]. However, today, sustainable aviation is more of an aspiration than a reality.

We believe that the introduction of low- or zero-emitting aircraft or assets can substitute other carbon intensive transportation modes. Climate change mitigation assets will lower harmful environmental and humanitarian impact of environmental disasters.

When investing we consider the full life cycle of the Sustainable Aviation Universe, including: R&D and development, new propulsion technologies and its related aircraft development, alternative energy and fuel providers, like SAF and green hydrogen, and other aviation-related technologies offering significant sustainability impact.
